Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a wedding can be a beautiful experience. It can also be stressful, costly, difficult and exhausting. We want to help you avoid all the negative aspects and emerge on your wedding day as a well prepared, relaxed and happy person. Having a wedding planner can make your experience a more streamlined process, help you adhere to or create a budget and give you an ear to listen when the planning gets tough. We can see the "bigger picture" when it is time to start selecting vendors and act as a mediator when the opinions come pouring in. Many times we hear the same questions from our couples; yes, yours fears and anxieties may very well be the same as others! Take a moment to peruse through some of our most frequently asked questions. The answers may answer some of your own...

I am already working with a Catering Manager at my venue, and he/she is very helpful. Why do I need your help?
Typically, Catering Managers at hotels or venues have the job of overseeing the wedding details that are directly related to the venue (and sometimes the food and beverage as well). It is not in their job description to confirm your vendors, run your rehearsal, oversee the vendors on your wedding day, cue you down the aisle at your ceremony, and make sure all of the day's events are running according to schedule. As professional Wedding Coordinators, our services supplement the services offered by your Catering Manager, Banquet Manager & Staff, and other vendors.

I saw the three packages listed on the site. Are these our only options?
Absolutely not! These packages were designed to help give brides an idea of what they may need. Every wedding is unique and therefore every package should reflect that uniqueness. After we have spoken with you about your needs and have a good picture of your proposed event, we will draw up a package with approximate costs to present to you. We provide as much or as little help as you need. The goal is to make the day an EVENT and not just another day! You can choose to use us for both coordination and design, just coordination, just design, etc.

My neighbor loves to plan parties. She is very organized and offered to plan our wedding as her gift to us! Why should we hire a professional coordinator over her?
First, it was very generous for someone to offer this! Wedding planning is a process that is time intensive, requires much knowledge and is not to be taken lightly. Although we applaud those who enjoy planning events as a hobby (we started out this way as well), professional planning is simply unparalleled. The Golden Pineapple Event Company is made up of a team of trained professionals that live the wedding and event business daily. We are kept up-to-date on trends through continuing education, we make it our duty to be well acquainted with local vendors, and we have developed relationships with venues, service providers and those in the industry and can therefore provide the best possible suggestions for your unique event. Just as a medical professional trains to stay well versed in their field so do we.

Most importantly, this is our JOB. We are fully insured and plan events as a career. This is not a pit stop to an ultimate destination; coordination and design is in our hearts and we wish to share our love of this industry with you to create the perfect wedding with memories to last a lifetime.

How many weddings do you plan per year? Per month? Per weekend?
By choice, each Coordinator plans 15-to-20 weddings per year -- a combination of Full Service, Month-Of, and Custom Coordination clients. We typically do no more than 3 weddings per month each, with no more than one wedding per weekend each. We are firm believers in not over-committing ourselves, so we control our workloads in order to give our clients the time and attention they deserve!

What is a wedding day timeline?
On your wedding day there will be many things happening behind the scenes that you should NOT have to worry about. It is our job to develop a timeline that depicts vendor arrival times, set-up times, etc as well as outline the ceremony and reception. Using this timeline we will correspond with your chosen vendors to create a well planned event. The timeline is comprised of information the bride has given us along with information we gather from then vendors.
